HUGE GIRCUS AS BACKGROUND FOR “CIRCUS ROOKIES.” New Zealanders have probably never seen a circus so large and fascinating as that' which was hired by Metro-Gold-wyn-Meyer. to make “Circus Bookies.*’ It adds interest, fun and pep .to the greatest comedy of the season. Whether it is their ill-assorted appearance, or whether it is their amazing and original antics that get the most laughs, it is hard to say, but one thing is certain and that is that Karl Dane and George K. Arthur have reduced comedy to a fine art. In “Circus Rookies” they have eclipsed anything they have previously done. Dane’s excruciatingly funny scenes wherein, he tamos a giant gorilla, Arthur’s breathtaking stunts on a trapeze, and a hundred and one other thrills provide them with an excellent opportunity of proving that they are without peers as a comedy combination.
