OLD SETTLER'S SAD END, (By Telegraph—Prees Association). * WAIHI, This Day. The body of William i>eaji, aged 72, was recovered in a deep hole in the Ohiuemuri rivor, between Waihi and Waikino yesterday forenoon. Deceased -was an old Canterbury scttlei', his parents arriving there from England in 1854 At the inquest it was shown that deceased had fallen from his horse while ' -crossing".the ford, through a stirrup lea-ther-breaking and "the current carried him down into a deep hole a chain down sftjpeam . '
