EXPORT RATES FOR FAT SHEEP

CHRISTCHURCH, Last; Night.

Good entries were the rule today at.. Addington and generally there a hardening tendency for ail. the. main classes of stock. Fat cattle, forward store lambs and good class ewes, fat sheep and fat lambs all met with a good sale.

Store sheep and lambs wore about the same as last week in number but ewes wore fewer, as also were wethers. Forward lambs and wethers sold at an advance as did young ewes, but low conditioned sorts were unchanged. Ex tra good halfbred ewe lambs to 112 s Bd, ordinary halfbred ewe lambs 26s 6d to 2Ss, good three-quarter-brod ewe lambs, 27s 9d t to 29s 3d, ordinary three-quarter-bred ewe lambs, 25s to 20s 9d, rape lambs, 22s to'24s, backward lambs 20s to 225, inferior lambs, 17s Gd to 19s; extra good two-tooth halfbred Owes to 395, good four, six and eightieth halfbred ewes, 31s to 34s Gd, ordinary four, six and eight-tooth halfbied owes, 27s to 29s 6d, inferior four, six and eight-tooth halfbred ewes, 22s Gd to 255, extra good two-tooth thrcc-quartor-bred ewes to 33s 9d, ordinary four, six and eight-tooth three-quarter-bred ewes, 2Ga Gd to £Bs 6d, good four, six and eight-tooth crossbred ewes 27s Gd to 28s ,Gd, good four, six and eighttooth crossbred ewes, 27s Gd to 30s, ordinary four, six and eight-tooth crossbred ewes, 25s to 26s 6d, aged ewes, 15s to 15s Gd, good two-tooth halfbred wethers, 30s to 32s Gd; ordinary four, six and eight-tooth halfbred wethers, 27s to 29s Gd, backward four, six and eight-tooth halfbred wethers to 24s Gd.

Fat lambs. —2750 penned and a keen sale for ail classes, best .36's and under making a shilling. All good skinned lambs sold particularly well, a pen of ten Corricdalcs bought for show purposes making 53s 4d. Extra prime heavy lambs to 435, prime 34s to 375, medium 30s to 335, light, 27s to 29s Gd, store 20s to 255. Fat sheep.—A heavy yarding, ewes predominating. The quality generally was good. Rates at the full schedule for export prevailed. Best grade wethers made 7sd and heavier sorts from 7d to 7 Id,' whilst ewes averaged from 5d to fid. Extra prime heavy wethers 40s to 43s lOd, prime wethers, fid to 395, medium wethers 32s to 355, light wethers 29s to 31s, extra prime ewes to 42s 7d, prime ewes 29s to 335, medium ewes 24s to 28s fid, light ewes 21s to 245, poor conditioned and aged ewes 17s Gd to 20s.

Fat cattle. —Five hundred yarded including a number of well-finished drafts of station and plains’ fattened cattle . Good quality was better than last week by up to 20s a head. Primest beef made to 41s per lOOlbs in a few cases, prime 37s fid to 39s Gd, medium quality 35s to 3s, heavy-weight 33s fid to 365, good cows 32s to 355; ordinary 28s to 31s, rough down to 255; extra prime heavy steers to £l9 17s fid, prime heavy steers £ls 15s to £18; prime handy weight steers £l3 10s to £ls 10s, ordinary quality steers, £lO 15b to £l3 ss, light steers £7 12s fid to £lO 10s, extra prime heifers, £l4 7s fid, prime heifers, £lO 10s to £l2 ss, ordinary heifers £8 to £lO ss, light prime cows to £l4 12s fid, prime cows £lO to £l2, medium cows £7 10s to £9 15s, light and aged cows £5 to £7 ss. Vealers. —A small entry of mostly big sorts. Late rates were maintained* Twelve to 18-months sorts to £B, vealers £3 10s to £6 15s, others 25s to £2 15s.

Store cattle. —Cows formed the bulk of the entry, A good sale. Cows made £2 10s to £55 10s, others 25s to £2 ss, bulls £3 to £B, 4yr. steers to £lO 12s Gd. Dairy a few good sorts were forward and they sold at good prices. Medium sorts sold satisfactorily. Extra good second to fourth cal vers to £lB, good sorts £lO to £l4 10s, medium £7 10s to £9 10s, inferior £5 to £7, heifers, £7 to £ll, spring calvers £2 10s to £3 10s.

Eat pigs.—An irregular market with prices a shade easier. Choppers £2 to £5 17s 6d, baconers £2 15s to £4 8s Gd, extra heavy baconers to £5 2s Gd, average price per lb 51d to CJd; porkers 32s to 525, average per lb. 6d to 7’d. Store pigs.—A small entry. Eccent values were* maintained. Wean ora Gs to 9s 6d, small stores 9s to 12s; medium to large stores 13s to 28s.

JOHNSONVILLE SALE Messrs. Abraham aftd Williams, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson, Ltd., report Johnsonvillo sale yesterday; Only a medium sized yarding of sheep, lambs and cattle came forward, the beef entry consisting mostly of cows and heifer’s, only a few bullocks being yarded. The sale was keen throughout, prices being considerably better than last week. Wc quote: Bullocks, £ll, £ll 2s Gd 'to £l4 2s Gd. Heifers, £9, £9 7s Gd, £9 10s, £lO to £lO 7s Gd.

Cows, £7 15s, £B, £8 7s Gd, £S 15s to £9.

Wethers, 36s 9d, 37s lid to 38s 3d. Ewes, 255, 27s Gd, 29s 3d to 30s. Lambs, 28s, 295, 29s Gd, 30s Gd to 31s Vealers, 28s, £2 15s, £3, £3 ss, £3 7s Gd to £4 4s.
