BURGLARY CHARGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. In the Police Court, Henry Roland Bar, a labourer, aged 24, pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence, for breaking and entering the dwelling of Thomas Young, at Fitzherbcrt, and stealing, articles valued at £3 11s, also break-' ing and entering the dwelling of Mrs Avery, at Palmerston North, and stealing articles valued at £2 2s 6d, also breaking and entering the dwelling of Miss McLagan, at Palmerston North, and stealing 4s. The accused pleaded not guilty to an act of indecency at Fitzherbet with the intention of offending a female, for which he was sentenced to three months’ hard labour. CONVERTING A CAE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. Henry William Gardner Meech and Colin Charles MeAsey, both 20 years of age, were charged before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., with unlawfully converting to their own use a motor car and pleaded guilty. The police stated the car was taken from the Square and later recovered at Hawera. Each was sentenced to three months hard labour, the Magistrate remarking that this class of effenee was on the increase, and even the maximum punishment was apparently unable to stop it.
