BIRKENHEAD MAY DROP POLITICS.
RELATIONS WITH PREMIER ICILY FRIGID. Received Wednesday, 7.30 p in. LONDON, April 21. The “Daily Nows” says that Lord Birkenhead’s future is again the subject of gossip in authoritative political circles where it is believed he is likely to leave politics after the generalelection and follow Mr. B. McKenna into city speculations. This idea has received an impetus' owing to Lord Birkenhead’s writingthat his relations with Mr. Baldwin, have never been cordial but are now frigid, the Prime Minister finding it difficult to forgive Lord Birkenhead, his error of judgment of April 19 when indicating his objection to the Government attitude on the subject of enfranchisement of women. The “Daily News” recalling Lord Birkenhead’s dictum “World offers glittering prizes for those with , stout hearts and sharp swords” expressesthe opinion that Lord Birkenhead is going in search of them.
