OTAKI ODDFELLOWS.
INSTALLATION CEREMONY. The usual fortnightly meeting of the above Lodge was hold in the Lodge room on Friday evening. Bro. Walter Taylor presided over a good attendance including Grand Lodge Officers (Wellington), and officers and members of the Levin Lodge. AH correspondence was read and received. Three applications for membership were, received and one ballotted for. It was decided to have a Church Parade at the Anglican Church, on Sunday, April 29th, in commemoration; of the lo9th anniversary of the Independent Order of Oddfellows in New Zealand. The special business of the evening was the Installation of officers for the next term, which was conducted by the District 'Deputy-Grand Master, Bro. F. J. Jones, assisted by Bro. H. Daines, P.D.D.G.M., Bro. E. D. Wallis, Degree Master, Bro. J. C. Turner, P.G., Bro. J. Johnston, P.G., and Bro. C. V.
Smith, all of Wellington. The officers installed to the various chairs were as follows: —Noble Grand, Bro. A. Fursc; Vice-Grand, Bro. J. Irving; secretary (financial), Bro. H. Taylor; recording secretary, Bro. C. Cheer; treasurer, Bro. N. Thomson; Warden, Bro. J. Cooksley; Conductor, P.G. H. Small; Chaplain,. Bro. J. Stone; Inside imardian, Bro. E. Churchill; Outside Guardian, Bro. NSynnott; Right Scene Supporter, Bro. J. Barron; Left Scone Supporter, Bro, S. Hill; Right Supporter, N.G., Bro. A. Ralph; Left Supporter, N.G., Bro. E. Fielding; Right Supporter, V.G., Bro. E. Looser; Loft Supporter, V.G., Bro. C. Walker. After the installation was concluded the D.D.G.M., Bro. Jones, presented P.G. Bro. Walter Taylor with a Past Grand Jewel as a recognition of the service lie had rendered to the Lodge. Bro. Jones also presented P.D.D.G. Bro. H. Daines with a Jewel from the Otaki Lodge. Both recipients suitably replied.
After the Lodge was closed a very pleasant time was spent together, alt partaking of supper, which was in charge of the social committee. D.D.G.M. Bid. Jones gave an interesting talk on Oddfellowship, which was enjoyed by all present. Fraternal greetings were extended to the N.G., which were accepted and responded to. A very pleasant evening came to a close at i 1.15.
