CLAIMED BY PNEUMONIA WHEN GOING TO RELIEF OF BREMEN. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) OTTAWA, April 25. Floyd Bennett died at 10.50 this morning, at Quebec, from pneumonia contracted while flying here from Detroit with repair parts for the Bremen at Greenly Island. He was kept alive for some hours with oxygen. Colonel Lindbergh’s trip was in vain, because the serum he carried from the Rockefeller Institute only effective against types of penumonia less virulent than Bennett’s. Commander Byrll was greatly affected at the death' of Bennett, for whom he entertained the keenest personal affection and with whom ,he had shared his triumphs and hardships. , Bennett’s body is being sent to New York. BREMEN’S CREW ABANDON THEIR MACHINE. WILL CONTINUE IN FORD PLANE (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) OTTAWA, April 25, A message from Murray Bay states that the Bremen’s crew have now definitely decided to abandon their plane at Greenly Island and return to civilisation in the Ford relief plane which flew to their assistance from Detroit. They have been weather-bound for several davs, and the latest report received declared that they were convinced that the difficulties in getting off in the Bremen were too great.
