OBITUARY

CHARLES KILSBY, OTAKI

Much regret will be felt in this district at the announcement of the death of Mr Chas. Kilsby, of Otaki, which took place the Palmerston North hospital at half-past eleven last night. The late Mr Kilsby, who was 61 years of ,iige„ had been in indifferent health for some six years, and last Friday week he had to leave his home and enter the hospital. He was prominently associated with public, affairs on this coast, having been a member of the old Otaki Town Board and of the Borough Council until last election, when he retired. He also had a seat on the . Horowhenua Electric -\ > -Power Board, but did not seek re-election this year. He was a Justice of the Peace, and one of the'founders of the Kahui Dairy Co. The parents'of the. late" Mr Ki'.sby came to New Zealand about 70 years ago, settling at Ohariu, where he was born. About 35 years, ago he was married to Miss Biigid Bourke, of Pahiatua, and he is survived by his wife and two daughters, Misses Olive and Norah Kilsby. The brothers of the deceased are Messrs Harry (Palmerston North), James (Stratford), Alfred (South Australia), and Walter Kilsby (Levin). Mr W. E. Kilsby, of Levin, a member of the County Council, is a nephew. The funeral will take place in Palme -ston to-morrow, leaving All Saints' Church at 1.45 p.m.
