INCREASE TO 35,000 A YEAR.

WAR AND REVOLUTION BLAMED. Thirty-five theusand marriages go smash every year in Germany, according to statistics recently published. This means an enormous increase, compared with the figures of two decades ago. Clergymen, sociologists and the authorities agree that the constantly increasing number of divorces is due to the changed conditions brought about by the war and revolution. About o' per cent, of the divorces are granted by the courts on charges of adultery and the rest for cruelty, incompatibility, non-support and other reasons. "Most of the couples legally separated have been married loss than ten years, but in 1925 3862 men and women who had been married more than twenty-live years sought marital freedom.
