WHERE RADIO SCORES.
REACHING THE LONELY PLACES. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. One of the obvious advantages of radio telephony is that it enables communication to be carried on between points which cannot easily be connected by wires. A notable case in which ready communication is vci y desirable, but where it would be prohibitive as to cost if wired telephones were used, is on the section of the Milford track between Glade House and Lake Te Anau. The Tourist Department has ordered a 200-watt radio phone equipment for use in this connection in the section of the lake which is traversed by steamer. It is impossible to lay a telephone line round the almost inaccessible forest-clad shore of the lake, and the absence of means of communication has long been very inconvenient.
