The friends of Mrs A. P. Bignall, of Weraroa, will regret to hear of her illness, necessitating her removal to the Palmerston Hospital this morning, and will wish her a speedy recovery. ~,
Advice from the Palmerston North hospital this afternoon with respect to Mr H. Jacob, of Levin, the well-known All Black footballer, who was injured in the local match on Saturday, is that he is still seriously ill, but is improving.
Mr H. Dyer, of Levin, has received an appointment as general inspector under the Jlutt County Council, aud, with Mrs Dyer, will take up his permanent residence in the County this week. They have been residents of this district for the past ten years, and for the last two in Levin, and have made many friends, who will wish them well in their new home. Mr Dyer was for some years a director of the Levin Dairy Company and in that position rendered good service to the industry.
