(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. What is known as “the Ponsonby affray" was dealt with by the Magistrate this morning, when Herbert Marshall Brocks was charged with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Alexander Cuthbert Bentley by wounding him. The accused was committed for trial. On the evening of August 22 the screams of a woman were heard issuing from a house occupied by Brooks, in Wanganui Avenue, Ponsonby. Investigations showed that during a quarrel, Bentley had received knife wounds in the back of the neck, and Brooks was injured about the face.
