KITCHEN STOVE BLOWN TO PIECES.

WOMAN INJURED

(Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night.

A terrfic explosion shattered the kitchen stove in Mr Percy Sampson’s house at Sentry Hill to-night. Portions of the stove were flung about the room, one piece going through the ceiling and another through the window. Still another piece injured Mrs Sampson’s leg. dhe explosion occurred when Mr Sampson placed a shovelful of coal on the fire. The three occupants of the room —father, mother, and son—had a fortunate escape from more serious injury. The coal was secured originally from the Waikato, being bought by Mr Sampson as usual through a dacry factory. It evidently contained a detonator or other explosive.
