WHAT IS CORRECT
FASHION GLIMPSES. A glance into the salons of a great French firm reveal these thumbnail sketches of what is correct. Deep absinthe green, also black, and black and white will also be popular. Evening dresses must no longer glitter. Fringes of silk beads or pearls may be worn with evening frocks. White, pink and blue-violinc, will be favoured colours; they may also be used with silver. Though simplicity is the dominant note, it is being- used with a softer,, more feminine touch. The ensemble dress and long coat holds its place firmly. The short jacket will also be smart and popular.
Gold is a favoured decoration for day and . .evening costumes. Plain gold hair ornaments, belts, bag fastenings and necklets are much in evidence.
Opals are the fashionable jewels of the moment. Drop opal earrings worn with a pendant necklace to match are in high favour, combined with the irrisdcscent fabrics in use for evening wear.
