CHASE AFTER JOY-RIDER.
Y.M.C.A. SECRETARY LANDS HIS QUARRY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A car owned by Mr J. Paul, Y.M.C.A. secretary at the Public Works camp at Tama hi,” was taken from its parking place in Grafton Road last night. Mr Park, Avho had been at a party, came out in time to see the vehicle gliding away. With two friends he gave chase, and the car stopped at the bottom of a hill, the occupants having gone down in neutral and being unable to get the car to go further. Two men jumped out, and the pursuers caught one hiding in the Domain undergrowth. Though the prisoner twice broke loose, Mr Paul and his companion got him again eventually, pinioning the joy-rider and immediately removing him to the police station.
