CHASE AFTER JOY-RIDER.

Y.M.C.A. SECRETARY LANDS HIS QUARRY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. A car owned by Mr J. Paul, Y.M.C.A. secretary at the Public Works camp at Tama hi,” was taken from its parking place in Grafton Road last night. Mr Park, Avho had been at a party, came out in time to see the vehicle gliding away. With two friends he gave chase, and the car stopped at the bottom of a hill, the occupants having gone down in neutral and being unable to get the car to go further. Two men jumped out, and the pursuers caught one hiding in the Domain undergrowth. Though the prisoner twice broke loose, Mr Paul and his companion got him again eventually, pinioning the joy-rider and immediately removing him to the police station.

MAN TWICE BEFORE COURT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Raymond Patrick Letton, who was arrested last night, after a struggle in Grafton Road, for the alleged theft of a motor car, was before the Court this morning, when he proved to be the man who was before the Court yesterday on a charge of the unlawful conversion of another car, when he was remanded. He will reappear in Court next Monday to answer both charges.
