BY 82 RUNS. -GOOD PARTNERSHIP OF McGIRR AND DACRE. NEW ZEALAND. c First Innings 251 Second Innings 164 NORTHAMPTONSHIRE. First Innings ! 237 Second Innings 260 <(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) •» ■ LONDON, June 14. Northamptonshire won by 82 runs. The only stage at which New Zealand appeared likely to win was when McGirr and Dacre were associated; but when this -partnership was broken, the display of batting was poor. The 'county’s bowling was steady, With a good length, but not sufficiently formidable to account for the visitors’ failure. The match will long be remember--ed by Kettering (where it was played) for the sporting qualities shown. Following are the scores:— NEW ZEALAND. Second Innings. Blunt 25 McGirr 26 Dacre 32 Total 164 Bowling.—Wright 1 for 19, Towell 3 for 56, Jupp 3 for 56, Thomas 3 for 29. Official correction. —In Northants’ second innings Merritt took 4 wickets for 63 and Blunt 2 for. 72.
