ST. PATRICK’S BALL.

A BRILLIANT FUNCTION. (From “Shannon News.”) Last evening the annual St. Patrick's 1 . Ball was hold in the Druids’ Hall. This event is always eagerly looked 1 forward to by those who enjoy dancing; under perfect conditions and last evening’s function was no exception to its predecessors, the hall being well filled, a large number attending from Levin and the surrounding neighbourhood and with the excellent door and fine dance music provided by the Jazzmanian Orchestra, everyone spent an enjoyable evening. As in the past, the hall had been tastefully decorated witlt green, black and yellow streamers,, with greenery nicely arranged about the stage on which there were a number of easy chairs for those' who wished to look on at the dancing! The duties of master of ceremonies were in the capable hands of Mr J. T. Boris, who did all in his power to assure everyone having a good time. The committee, under the guidance of their secretary, Mrs J, Hennessy, had not overlooked the smallest detail in their: arinngements, while the supper prepared* by the ladies’ committee was excellent and needless to say was done full justice to; there being six sittings. ■ Dancing was kept up. until the early hours of the morning and we are safe in say-, ing that the St. Patrick’s Ball of 1927‘ was one of the best yet held During the. evening extras were played by Mrs; Butler, Miss Pickett and Mr S, Parsons. (Levin). The frocks worn by the ladies werea beautiful lot and added largely to the gaiety of the function. The. following are a few of the frocks wenoticed: Mrs E.
