RETAILERS' ASSOCIATION.

FORMED IN OTAKL At a meeting of businessmen of Otaki on Friday night, Mr. 11. J. Wyatt presiding, the proposed formation of a retailers ', association was discussed. It was pointed out that such a body, if formed, could do much for Otaln, especially regarding holidays, bad debts, etc., while it was hoped that pressure could be brought to bear to have the town made brighter and cleaner. The Association might also appoint a nightwatchman, while shop days, bazaars, and the like could be dealt with in a proper manner. Aflcr discussion, Mr. A. L. Moore moved, and Mr. Allan seconded, that an Association be formed, and Messrs Moore and Sievers were appointed to interview other business men With a view to getting them to join up.
