EDITORIAL STAFF ON STRIKE.
QUEER POSITION ON SOCIALIST PAPER. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day* 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, Dee. 20. The editorial staff of the Glasgow Evening Standard, a Socialist paper owned by Mr J. Wheatley, M.P., struck, alleging* victimisation, and breach of trades union principles. The editor asserts that reporters c* titled to 70s received 37s 6d weekly tNovember 30, when they secured an increase to SO per cent, of the union rates. One of the most highly pail men was dismissed and a boy brought on in his .place. The firm denies the allegations. Journalists are not supporting the strike.
