■ 1 POPE’S CRUSADE AGAINST IMMODESTY. INVOLVES MEN’S AID. (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, Dee. 19. The Daily Dispatch’s Rome correspondent says a world-wide appeal to men’s Catholic organisations in favour (if a vigorous crusade in the interests of humanity against modern women’s immoral fashions and irreverent manners was made by the Pope at a greaD gathering of men. He added: ‘‘The human body is sacred because it is God’s creation. Therefore it should defend itself against the spirit of irreverence found in present fashions which bear the seed of countless catastrophes. ’ ’ SACRAMENT REFUSED TWENTYFIVE OFFENDERS. (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) PARIS, Dec. 19. The Archbishop of Bordeaux has ordered little girls to cover their knees Avhile women’s skirts must be long enough to prevent any accusations of immodesty. He has forbidden priests to administer the Communion to those disobeying this rule.
