RULES OF TROTTING

MUST BE ENFORCED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dee. 17. A meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Board to-day discussed the matter of interference by drivers not observving the rule that a horse may not cross over to the rails unless two lengths clear of the next horse, several members remarking that it was a difficult thing sometimes to determine what was exactly two lengths. The Board endorsed the action of the New Zealand Metropolitan Club in fining J, Bryce £ls for such an offence in the New Zealand Cup.
