Speaking at a function to commemorate the duplication of the Pacific cable, the Postmaster-General, Mr Gibson said the Federal Government was prepared co grant concessions which will cost £75,0G0 yearly and is also prepared to reduce its terminal charges from 4d to 2d a word. The postmaster said the terminal charge on press messages was a half penny a word. The press now enjoyed a cheaper rate than ahy pait of the world. He did not think they could look to a greater reduction.
