At tlie Do Luxe Thearte On Tuesday night will be screened an exciting aim sensational railroad drama, “The White Desert.” lire story, written by Courtney Ryley Cooper, deals with the construction of a railway tunnel through, the Rocky Mountain in the middle of the winter, when blizzards are at their height. It " furnished thrilling scenes of a mighty avalanche that practically wipes out a construction camp; the sorry plight of the camp without food, cut off from civilisation, the radio set that babbles a lecture to! the starving men about the dangers of over-eating and the tragic scene when one of them goes mad and smashes the set to atoms; the stupendous battle of the linesmen against the driving snowstorm in an attempt to establish communication and save the camp, and the huge snowplow forcing its way through.the mountainous drifts ahead of the relic! train. • »-
