SEAMEN’S UNION REPRESENTS THE MEN. (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 2. Replying to statements by Labour members in tlie New Zealand Parliament, 4he Shipping Federation states that, firstly, ever ninety per cent. Of the seamen are represented on list' Maritime Board. The only withdrav/Ei In 1921 was a small section of stewards owing to* internecine quarrels. Most of these rejoined through Havelock Wilson’s union. Their president, Joseph Cotter, is no\v organiser for Mr Wilson. Secondly, hie membership of the National Maritime Board consists of organisations who appoint their representatives annually.. Mr Wilson Is appointed in that way. Thirdly, Mr Wilson’s union remains a member of the Board and is represented by its principal officials fro® the principal ports.,
