(Received Friday 7 P-in.) LONDON, October 1. Mr George Remvick the "Daily Chronicle” corespondent alleges that , gruesome judicial crimes are boms perpetuated by Rumanians in Lessarabia. The story is vouched for by such men as Professor Albert Einstein and . M. Henri Darbusse, author of Ee Leu. A year ago a number of Rumanian gendarmes murdered a Bessarabian peasant because he refused to let them have goods for nothing. Neighbouring peasants were aroused, but the authorities, instead of punishing the criminals, treated the peasants as criminals and as punishment destroy - cd six villages by artillery lire. They also burned the town of Tatarbunar, where two hundred peasants were massacred and eighty-seven. who sought refuge in a church were hauled out, tortured and executed. It is official I v stated that two thousand rebels were killed while a so-called revolt was being suppressed. The bodies of 279 prisoners, who were executed in cold blood were displayed publieiv as a warning to the population and 4SC men. women and children are still confined to prison under the foulest circumstances in Ktshtneff. They are now threatened with court-martial without any defence. Professor Einstein and others have signed a strong protest to the Rumanian Government.
