TO ENCOURAGE FEDERAL PAPF.It MANUFACTURE. (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.' MELBOURNE, Oct. 3. In (Tie House of Representatives, Mr Bruce announced that, in tho next Parliament, proposals would be submitted to pay a bounty of £4 per ton for the manufacture of mercantile newsprint and other paper from Australian raw material. It was hoped thereby to develop and firmly establish an important new industry. He particularly referred to proposals hy the amalgamated zinc companies lo manufacture in Tasmania paper from Australian hardwood.
