BUT HOPEFUL OF RESULTS. (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 17. •A more hopeful aspect of "the shipping trouble has developed by the announcement by Mr E. Holloway, secretary of the disputes committee to the Trades Hall .Council, that a ■settlement could be expected by the end of the week. The committee had had several consultations with the ship owners. The position at present was very delicate and he could not enlarge on it.
