♦ PROGRAMME OF IMPROVEMENT,

The Levin Borough Council recently paid a visit of inspection to the Domain at the Lake on which the goli links are- situated, and as a result the Reserves Committee made the'following recommendations to. the Council; That the pinus insignia on the road frontage be tapped. That four nows of gums on the western side be taken out, and a shelter hedge of native trees be planted, prices ito be obtained for the purchase of the gums as they stand. That the Eleagnuis hedge (and fences) intersecting the picnic ground be taken out.

That the belt of pinus insignis along the drive be taken out, prices to be obtained for this work.

That a shelter hedge be planted on the south side of the picnic ground, the fences for this being already erected.

That a general clean-up be given to the picnic ground by sie removal of all dead trees anabranches. In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman of the Reserves Committee, Cr. McAllister, said it was expected that enough would be got from the sale of timber to pay for the work, but they would have to pay for the new trees. He briefly referred to the various works that were proposed, which would greatly improve the ground. Cr. Parker seconded the motion, which was carried.
