Robert Lebaudy, the multi-million-aiife sugar refiner, who is a brother of -the self-styled Emperor of Sahara, was defendant in a breach of promise case In which Mra JJendham, an American ■widow, sued for £20,000. She gave evidence that she was twice married, and 1 after Mendham’s death, she met 'Lebaudy In 1916. They became on terms of the greatest affection and • Lebiudy proposed to marry ■ her in America, but when the Emperor of Sahara was shot by his wife, in 1919, Robert wan so upset that he refused to gw to America, and now he would ■ not a roarry her. The hearing was ad- ■ jou&ed.
