HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL. PROTECTION HOROWHENUA WATER-RACE SYSTEM. SPECIAL ORDER. IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it In that behalf by Section 37 of “The WaterSupply Act, 1908,” and all other powers thereto enabling, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order, as follows: That for the purpose of coping with the damage from floods and river encroachment, and for the general protection of the HorowheTuia Water-race System at and near the intake from the Ohau River, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby authorises the raising of a Loan of £SOO at ih per cent for 36J years, and declares that the cost of raisng the loan (but not the first year’s interest on the loan) shall be paid out of Hie monies so raised ■

SPECIAL EATING AREA. The Special Rating Area comprises all rateable properties in the Horowhenua Water-supply District (excluding only tire 'Borough of Levin), and all extensions of the said llorowhenua Water-supply District made at the dale of making this Special Order, or which may hereinafter be madefrom time to time. The boundaries of*the said Horowhenua Water-supply District are as follows: Commencing from the margin of Horowhenua'Lake in an easterly direction until it strikes the.northern boundary of the Levin Block Section 20, thence along the said boundary to the western boundary of Section R 1, No. 3, thence in a north-easterly direction along the western boundary of the said B 1 No. 3, thence in an easterly direction,to .the north-eastern point ol B 5 No. 3,=* thence in a south-westerly direction to the south-eastern point of the said B 5 No. 3, thence .in an easterly direction to the northern end of the Kopularoa Road, thence in a southerly direction along the said road to its south end, thence in an easterly direction to Hie south-west-ern corner of Section 48 Levin Block, thence in a southerly direction to the most northern point of 3E No. 3A„ thence in a southerly direction along ihe eastern boundary of the said Section until it strikes the Ohau River, thence along the course of the Ohau River until it strikes the southern boundary of Block 14, thence in a westerly direction along the south boundary of Blcck 14 until it strikes Waiwiri- Lakes, thence along the shore of the said lakes to the northwestern boundary of Block 14, thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Section 61, thence in a northerly direction by a direct line drawn to the starting point. The foregoing Special Order made at a Special Meeting of the Ilorowhenua County Council held on the 10th day of December, 1021, will be submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the said Council to be held on the 14ih day of January, 1922. IN pursuance and exercise oi' the powers vested in it in that behalf by Section 1G of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913,” ami all other powers thereto enabling, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Special Rating Area in Hie Horowhcnua County hereinafter described, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of the said Special Rating Area, the Capital Value of whose properties appearing the Valuation Roll of the said County is collectively greater than the Capital Value of the properties of the Ratepayers who did not so consent, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves by way of Special order as follows: That for the purpose of extending tire Horowhenua Water-race System to a portion ol the Mnhunoa No. 3 block, near Ohau, the said I-loro-whenua County Council hereby authorises the raising of a loan ol £3OO at 4J per cent for 36J years, and declares that the cost of raising the loan (but not the first year’s interest on the loan) shall be paid out of the monies so raised. SPECIAL RATING AREA. The Muhunoa West Special Rating District comprising Sub-divisions 8, U and 10 of Sections 1 and 2, Muhunoa No. 3, Block IV., Waitohu S.D. The above Special Order ma'de at a Special Meeting of the Horowhenua County Council held on Hie lol.h December, 1021, will be ■ submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the said Council to be held on tbc 14th day of, January, 1922.
