TOKOMARU NOTE.

(From the Shannon News.) (From Our Own Correspondent.) A .tennis court is .being laid out m the school grounds. The mo'ney has been raised by public subscription. The work of late has been held up by the weather, but it is hoped to have the court ready for play at an early date. Local tennis enthusiasts intend to invite members of the Shannon Club to he present at the opening, and a pleasant day is anticipated. Mr and Mrs Parr are at present visiting Hawke’s Bay. The closing of several of the mills lias made things rather quiet in Tokomaru at present, but with a further sub-division of the land it is hoped that things will brighten up a little.
