PASTOR v. ELDER.

Sydney, December 17. A church dispute between pastor and elder was ventilated in the Court jhsre on Friday last, when Robert Laing, an elder, of St. David’s Church, Haberfleld. sued Rev. Angus King for £IOOO compensation for saying at a church meeting, “You lie! You never did speak the truth. You don’t know wiiat the truth is. More than that,Mr Laing, ygu have committed perjury in the church, and the churco holds the records of it." Elder Laing considered that such presumption was worth a thousand pounds to him, but the Court assessed it at a farthing, and a verdict for same was given by the jury after a lengthy hearing.
