TWO YEARS’ HARD LABOUR

(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, August 17. John Daniels, convicted at Westport for sending a false telegram, was brought up for sehfence in the Supreme Court this morning. Mr Justice Herdman said the case was not one for leniency. It was clear the prisoner had made up his mind to live the life of a criminal, and he was sentenced to two years’ hard labour.
