[ Compared, with the last few sales a ; there was little change in yesterday’s market, except that store stock, both in sheep and cattle, were a little less keen in demand. * !" Pigs.—The entry was a fairly numer- ’ j ous on© in weaners and stores, with 1 rates on a par with last wetk, and the demand not too keen. The weaners were good average, and prices were S from 4/ for small to 10/ and' 11/ for ’ best. The sLores were good sorts on the, whole, but found no better bids than 12/ up to 14/. There were com: half dozen entries of light porkers, the ' lot being disposed of from 28/6 (to 36/, whilst the heavier weights reached 51/ audj 55/. The indications right through 1 were that the vendors were keen to do ! business, and met the market in almost ’ every instance. Fat Sheep.—The fat sheep pens were, better filled than has been the case fo* 1 three weeks, the entry being largely composed of good ewe and wether mutton. The yarding was cleared at about last week’s rates, a lin© of two-tooth wethers topping the market at 25/, a mixed lot- of ewes and wethers bringing 23/, and pens of two-ixloth eaves and wethers 23/3 and 23/5. Other lines of ewes brought 21/6 and 22/6. Tho store sheep were a large entry, comprising useful sorts of ewes and wethers, besides several lots of good lambs. The demand was anything but bright, the bulk of the yarding having I to be passed. Good breeding ewes j made from 16/8 to 18/6, and lambs 7/11 to 8/5. and 8/9 to 9/6 for wellgrown. Cattle.—There was very little fat stock forward, a few pens of forward) and unfinished cows forming the entire entry. The best heavy cows realised up *o £7 17/6 and down +o £7 2/6. with lighter conditioned £6 to £6 5/. Stores, wlr'ch were a fairly numerous entry, wrre rot in request, the best of the ‘•ales made being from £2 10/ to £3 1 2/fi for fair "to medium cows. The ycahu-s were a poor lot, as the prices indicated—3s/ to £2. Several lots of 18-months steers and heifers did not’ reach reserves, hut a lino of well-bred wean or Jersey heifers mad© up to £4 7 1 after good competition. Bulls sold from £2 to £3 10/ and) £4.
