Meeting Depression.
A SELF-RELIANT POLICY,
(Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) London, January 31
John Hodge has outlined the Wigan project for co-operatively, meeting the l depression by which th© workers and ■employers would contribute an equal sum for every ton of steel produced. The formation of a pool by this means will produce half wages. in the event of sickness, holidays or unemployment. This would be much better than depending on the Government, though the. latter, in view of the beneficence of th? scheme, would gladly contribute to the administration of tbe fund. '■ it im i»wn—nm—m
