J CATHOLIC CONCERT. .Success has in variably crowned the efforts of our Roman Catholic friends in their concerts in Shannon and thrporforiiiance in the Gillandia Hall on Wednesday night was no exce|>tion to tin; rule. A crowded greeted the fir-4 it«in on the programme which was an overture by the orchestra under the leadership of Mrs Butler; the National Anthem being: an appropriate conclusion. A good soup: by Mr Trainer was followed by "The Last Rose nt Suiiinvr , ' by .Miss Rilsby. She answered an encore by"My Lodging is on the Cold Ground." Master Reggie Merwoiid gave a violin solo with hi.s customary ability. Mrs Costello was-eiicoii-d for her singing of nn Italian song and gave "Impudent Barney O'Shivi." A pretty tambourine dance by Misses Curran. Bilderheck. Butler, and Pickett followed. Mr Rogers was encored for liis singing of "The Trisli Boy td the War has Gone." Miss Flvim sang a pretty ballad and gave the "Trish Emigrant" in response to an encore. Mr Tilling was successful in his efforts to entertain the audience with a humorous song, and little Miss Terry was applauded for TTer pretty song. Mr Powell was loudly encored for a spirited interpretation of '"The Blue Dragoons." Mr McDonald gavo a banjo solo. Miss Lanrvig was in good voice, excelled licrself and won an encore. Mr Young sang "Father O'Flynn." and was followed by Mrs Hall with "A Little Cottage in the Wood." The .other items were a comic song and danco by Mr Curnui (encored) : song, little Miss Knyvett: song. "Bonnie Jean." Mr Bovis (who Rang-in. his usual happy style and was encored);. Irish jig by Miss Molly Hutler. Miss Curran and Mr J. Cur-i-an ; Kong. "Leunoro." by Mrs Costollo; (song, Mrs Rogers; Miss Kilsby again favoured the audience. After a song by Mr Young Mrs Hall won loud applau.se by her step-dancing. Mr Yates was as good a.s usual in his comic song "Mr McPherson." The two Misses Butler .and Miss Molly Curran danced a Highland fling. Mr Trainer thanked the audience for their 'attendance, also the performers, es peeially Miss Laurvig and Miss Flyim
