Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have re-
ceived the following cablegram from their .London office under date »f August 2nd, l*.»L-i:—-
"►Sales closed linn and active with brisk competition. As compared with hist .sales, closing rates super .Merino wools aro par to 5 per cent, higher. Fail , to good .Merinos have advanced ■"> per cent., hut inferior qualities arc unchanged. Fine cross-hrods are 7 -J per cent, to 10 per cent, higher, medium crossbrods. bright, and light conditioned, are 7.1 and other medium cross-breds and coarse cross-breds o per cent, higher. For .second cross-hreds and slipe wool*;, prices arc unchanged. The total uett quantity available for sal<> amounted to 2(i8.000 bales, of which 18.000 hales were, sold to America, 118.000 hales were sold for Home consumption, 72.000 bales to the Continent, '20,000 not offered, and 30.000 hales woro carried forward, making a total of 208,000 hales.
