Oddfellows Make Merry
r.oyial Diamond L-odge, M.TJ, (Levin), mel in its hall last evening, Brother A. Dempsey, N.G., in the chair. A visit was received from the District Ofiioeiv of the Order. Brothers ,1. and P. Tuoliy and A. J. Harding were advanced to the purple degree. At the closo of the business the visitors and members went into harmony, and a highly enjoyable evening was passed. During the formal proceedings the P.G. (Brother Ibbotson, of Loyal Kilbir--11 ie Lodge) spoke of the groat advances made by the Order throughout the world during the last twelve months, and especially of the progress in New Zealand. The district meeting will be held at Lo.val Rose of the Valley Lodge (Lower IT 11 tt") on 20th February. Brother A. C. Astridge has been appointed the Levin Lodge's dolegate. P.G. Brother George Astridge, who resigned recently from the post of .secretary to the Levin Lodge after thirteen years 'occupancy of the office, has had a hearty vote of thanks accorded to him for his many services to the Lodge. Ho is succeeded bv Bro A. J. Harding in the secretarial chair.
