WfI—■WBIIIIIII 11 Periodical gatherings, of a social nature, are to be held by the Levin Presbyterian community. Musical programmes will bo given, and social intercourse promoted, with intention of ciuickening the life and influence of the church. Anniversary services will lie held on Easter Sunday in connection with Levin Presbyterian Sunday School. The school's annual picnic will be held on Raster Monday, at Mr A. Newport's homestead, on Kawiu road. Friday afternoon is to be a notable day at Levin Tennis Courts, and members from a wide radius are sure to be in attendance. The occasion is a gift tea. being given by Mrs Matier in aid of the gymkana to be held by St. Mary's Church, after Easter, in aid of the church funds. AH those interested in the church are -invited to attend and to contribute such gifts as they may feel disposed to. Tennis will be played as usual. Special permission to hold the function at the courts ill as been granted by the club. It is likely that fine weather will prevail at this time of year, but to insure the comfort of nil patrons, arrangements have been made to hold. The function in the Town Hall in the event of wet weather. Visitors will lie welcomed from 3 p.m. to 0 p.m. Commenting upon the recent sports meeting in Levin, the Manawatu Times says:-At the Horowhenua Athletic meeting £40 was taken at the gates. Fifty guineas worth of trophies were given and of these 35 guineas were subscribed, by the townsfolk of Levin. From every point of view the meeting was a success. A challenge to play for them has been received from Shannon Club also, and this has been accepted also, though at present it lias not been decided whether the challenge will be accepted for Saturday next (the day suggested by Shannon Club) or for Wednesday of next week.
