'I he I;ii niims here are starling to sliear their wetheis already, and the first consignment left hero vesterday. The milk industry is in full pull just iinw, and farmers are Aery hopeful of having a good .season. The Dairy I'nion has installed a complete up-to-date plant to meet the increased milk supply, and the liiture prospects of Manakau, from a Jinaii -ial aspect, looks very promising indeed. Ihe Otaki Road Hoard has issued instructions to form and gravel the footpath on lloni Taipu street, and when completed this work will effect a. great improvement to the town. _ A commencement will be made in a lew days' time.
