Death from ah Oveedose of Chlorodyne.—We take the following from a late issue of the Gtaulburn Herald:—lntelligence reached town to the effect that, on Sunday last George Smith, an old resident of Goulburn, met his deith at Drummond’s public-house at Bogolong, it. is supposed from taking an overdose of chlorodyne given to hina by another man with whom he had been drinking. The man, whose name is Michael Murphy, has been taken to Yass in custody, to which place the body of Smith also has been conveyed. Deceased was long a water-carrier in Goulburn, where he has property and a family. He was on his way to Albury with property belonging to the Sisters of Mercy An inquest was commenced at Yass on Tuesday. It appeared that Smith was drinking with Michael Murphy and others Smith complained of pains, and'Murphy gave him some chlorodyne in rum. The stomach will be sent to Sydney to be anayzed.
