That within the' next 25 years or so a row of wharves might be seen extending from Glasgow Wharf right to the eastern pier, near Port Ahuriri, was the opinion expressed yesterday by the former secretary to the Napier Harbour Board, Mr J no. P. Kenny. He prophesied that Napier’s harbour would grow steadily during future years, and said that in his opinion it was essential for this district —as well as any district —to have a well-equipped harbour. If any names were eventually given to the new wharves, he would like to see one called “Higgins Wharf” in honour of Mr P. F. Higgins, who had (ought so hard for Napier’s outer harbour.
