At Rugby, Cambridge University beat Dublin University, 9—B. An American, Mr Eugene O’Neill, has been awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1936. It has been reported to Whitehall from Moscow that about 60 Germans, Austrians, Swedes and Poles have been arrested in the anti-Fascist purge. Mr Patrick Duncan, Minister of Mines, is the likely choice for the Governor-Generalship, states a Capetown cable.. The New York “Times” Hollywood correspondent says: “It is reported that Paramount are considering the cancellation of the five-million dollar suit against Samuel Goldwyn, charging him with having lured Gary Cooper away with bright promises. Negotiations are progressing by which Cooper may make an additional Paramount film and the suit be dropped.”
