Christchurch Case By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 11. A fine of £25 and costs was imposed on Daniel Francis Hector McDonald, tailor, aged 29, who pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court this morning to a charge of keeping a common gaming house. Chief-Detective Dunlop said that McDonald was arrested at one o’clock yesterday afternoon. At the time of his arrest he was taking bets on the trots being run at Addington. While the detectives were on the premises, the chief detective added, about half a dozen telephone calls were received. The amount of bets taken by' McDonald during Die morning was approximately £2O. He nad been carrying on for about 12 months. The bets ranged from £1 down to 2/6.
