WELLINGTON, Sept. 18.
In connection with tho inquiry to be held into the taxicab and town carrying business, the committee chairman, Mr P. M. Butler, said that the investigation would open at Wellington on Monday morning. All the evidence would be taken under oath. They proposed hearing the taxicab problem first and would commence the inquiry into the town carrying business on Thursday. The committee will sit also at Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Timaru, Palmerston North, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Rotorua, Gisborne, Napier, Hastings and Masterton. Mr A. L. Lynskey is secretary, and all inquiries should be directed to him at the Transport Department, Wellington.
