LATE MR. R. ALEXANDER

The funeral of tire late Mr Ron. Alexander, of Greenmeadows, took place at the Park Island Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon. There was a large concourse of people present to pay their last tribute to one of the most popular members of his profession.

A short service at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church and the burial service at tho graveside were conducted by the Rev. D. N. McDairmid. The pall bearers were the Hons. P. C. Webb and J. B. Hunter, and Messrs Hobbs, Mil ler, Flipp and Walker, though by special request of the employees of the raring stables at Greenmeadows the col fin was borne from the hearse to the grave by a group of the deceased trainer’s comrades in sport. Telegrams and messages of sympathy were received from all over the Dominion, including many from members of Parliament sitting in. Wellington, while over a hundred beautiful wreaths were received- --
