FLOWERS—BURGE WEDDING IN HASTINGS

St. Andrew’s Church, Hastings, prettily decorated in gay spring blossom and rich camellias by girl friends of tho bride, was the scene of the wedding of Joyce Annie, second daughter of Mr. ami Mrs. 11, W. Burge, of Twyford, and Charles Pervical,. only son ~l Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Flowers, of Queen street, Hastings. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. D. J. A. Shaw, and Miss A. Lock presided at the organ. The bride, escorted by her father, presented a charming picture in her gown of magnolia satin royal, fashioned on long lines and swept into a train which was inlet with long panels of fine silk lace in the same colour as the gown.. The corsage in the front was inlet with V shaped panels of the lace and at the back were tiny satin buttons and loops. The sleeves, full, and inlet with lace panels,, were gathered into a gauntlet cuff of satin and finished with tiny satin buttons. The beautiful ivory tulle sdk embroidered veil was secured to the hair by a halo of pearls and diamante, and hung in misty folds over the bridal gown. Magnolia brocaded satm shoes were worn, and the fragrant armsheaf was composed of miniature ivory white magnolias, white blossom, freesias and soft shaded narcissis and daffodils and maidenhair fern, tied with streamers of white satin. In attendance were two bridesmaids, the Misses Jean Burge (chief) and Joan Dobson, picturesquely hocked alike in celestial green cloque, fashioned ou graceful lines. The bodices were slightly slashed back and front and weie lined with gold lame, and at the neckboth back and front, were finished with gold lame roses, with green centres. The draped armholes were lined with gold lame, turned back on the top and trimmed with gold buttons. The long tie at the waist was lined with gold lame and threaded through two gold rings at the waistline. Celestial green broche shoes were worn, and round their heads were circlets of gold and green hand-made leaves with a pleated high-standing frill of green stiffened net at the back. Their arm sheaves were composed of yellow jasmine a.,d lovely and varied daffodils and ferns, with streamers to match. They wore the bridegroom’s gilt, crystal necklets. A pleasing little ceremony took place as the bride and bridegroom were leaving the church, when .Master Malcolm Palmer presented the bride with a dainty lucky horseshoe. Mr. Ivan Bradshaw attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. Aubrey Crowley as groomsman. Following the ceremony, a- reception was held at the Buffalo Hall, where a large number ot guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Burge, the bride's parents, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Flowers, parents of the bridegroom. The bride’s table crossed two other tables, all festively decorated in spring flowers arranged in crystal vases. Orange and green serviettes gave an added touch of colour. At the bride’s table was a handsome three-tiered wedding cake, which had been made by the bride’s mother and decorated by Mrs. R. W. Palmer, the bride's aunt. Mrs. H. AV. Burge was wearing a smart frock of navy crepe de chine, patterned in cherry and green, and finished atneckline with a white jabot. With this was worn a smartly tailored navy coat and navy felt hat. Her bouquet of blossom, camellias and ranunculi and terns was in cherry-red tonings.

Mrs. Keighley, of Taupo, the bride’s sister, wore a smart frock of niggerbrown fancy crepe with jabot and cuffs of beige and orange crepe de chine, brown straw hat with French orange flowers at the brim in front. Mrs. E. Wilton (bride’s grandmother), smartly irocked in black, carried a bouquet in amethyst tonings. Mrs. C. P. Flowers, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in an attractive ensemble in black and white, and a black hat. She carried an orange and flame-tinted bouquet. Miss Flowers was wearing a very pretty flowered silk frockThe reception was a particularly happy one. The Rev. Mr. Shaw proposed tho toast to the bride and bridegroom Mr. R. W. Palmer (uncle of the bride) acted as toastmaster. When Mr. and Mrs. Flowers left 'by car for the honeymoon tour, which is to be spent in the north, the bride was wearing a charming frock of blue decked tweed, with stitched lido-blue velvet collar and belt, smartly finished with buttons in same colour. A lido-blue hat with stitched brim and silver ornaments was worn, and also a tailored coat of lido-blue fancy cloth with large skunk fur collar.
