Otago's Rugby Succesa. “In the south they go in for teamwork. Players are not stars, they are part ot a team which functions as a whole. Otago has had thirty players in training for Shield games this season, and they all work together with perfect understanding,’ said Mr. W. Kelly, manager of the North Auckland Rugby team, on its return from a southern tour. The result of the Haniurlv Shield match made it appear that North Auckland never looked like winning, but Otago officials said the touring team was one of the beat forward teams Otago had met, continued Mr. Kelly. The match against Canterbury was a disaster, however. Canterbury expected the visitors to win. but North Auckland went complete! to pieces, injuries and the placing ■ f men in unaccustomed positions being partly responsible.
