HASTINGS WEST SCHOOL

Meeting of Committee

The monthly meeting of the committee of the Hastings West School was held at the school on Wednesday evening. Present: Messrs. Mackersey (chair), Colello, Treacher, Miller, Trumpet, Westerman, Matthews and Harvey. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. Britten and Driller.

The headmaster’s report showed an increase in the roll number to 339, and he mentioned that with another four pupils the school would be entitled to an additional teacher.

Correspondence was received from the board stating the difficulties that had arisen in respect of staffing arrangements owing to the shortage of teachers.

Arrangements were finalised for the concert to be held at the school next week. Authority was given for the purchase of cricket bats and balls.
