MANUKAU BY-ELECTION

Two candidates have been nominated for the contest in the Mauukau by-elec-tion, which is to be held on September 30. When nominations closed at noou the returning officer had received the nominations of Mr F. W. Doidge and Mr A. G. Osborne. There will thus be a clear-cut contest between representatives of the New Zealand National Party and the New Zealand Labour Party.
